Children’s Nurse Jobs Description
Children’s nurses can be employed by private hospitals, NHS trusts, nursing agencies, health centres, charities/voluntary organisations, schools, private health care organisations, GP practices and residential homes.
Children’s Nurse Job Responsibilities:
- Planning nursing care requirements;
- Monitoring and administering medication, injections and intravenous infusions;
- Helping patients, treating wounds, taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures;
- Caring and Playing with children;
- Dealing with emergency patients, checking patients’ health condition
- supervising junior staff, organising workloads, tutoring student nurses;
- Providing information, emotional support and reassurance to patients and relatives.
- 24-hour shift work is usually a standard requirement of the job.
- Three year diploma course a three to four-year degree course.
- Graduates with a degree in a subject such as physiology, psychology, education, life, medical, health, biological or social sciences
